In response to the Sudan crisis, the CLC in Aswan played an inevitable role in supporting UNESCO Cairo Education response. In cooperation with Om Habiba Foundation, learning needs assessment was conducted, in the second half of 2023, for 250 vetted beneficiaries from Sudanese and Egyptian women and people with disabilities (80% and 20% respectively).

• In the first quarter of 2024, the planned activities for 250 beneficiaries from both communities was successfully implemented in Aswan. The trainings provided included awareness-raising on TVET-Intangible Cultural Heritage. In parallel, all target beneficiaries received trainings and participated in activities that aimed to strengthen social cohesion and to provide psychological support. This included topics such as: understanding and mainstreaming social cohesion, youth engagement and inclusion, post-war traumas and adjustment to a new social context, types of emotions and how to deal with negative feelings using Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and story circles.

• A field visit to Aswan has been conducted to document success stories of Phase I for a web story.

• Phase II of the CLC in Aswan has started in August with around 300 beneficiaries on advanced TVET, incubation for their starting small businesses, as well as more psychosocial support services.
